Islamabad, Pakistan (AHN) - A car bomb outside a police barrack in Islamabad and another bomb planted under a bus transporting prisoners in northwestern Pakistan exploded Thursday killing 24 people, including three children.
The car bomb was able to pass the security gate of the police headquarters because the driver showed boxes of sweets for delivery to members of the anti-terrorism unit. Once inside, the car detonated outside the barracks of police officers killing 17 and tearing off a big part of the building.
In the Upper Dir district of North West Frontier Province, the other explosion killed seven people and injured 11 bystanders. The bus was thrown against an incoming school bus killing three children, a police official told CNN.
