Kabul, Afghanistan (AHN) - At least 15 people were killed, including five police officials when a suicide bomber wearing a burqa, blew himself up in a busy market area in Dilaram district, western Afghanistan Thursday, an official said.
The Afghan interior ministry said the incident happened around 9:30 a.m. local time, when a police officer noticed the suspect and tried to stop the bomber before he detonated the bomb in the busy market street in Farah province.
Five police officials were killed including 12 other civilians while at least 20 people were injured in the explosion.
Taliban spokesperson Qari Yusuf Ahmadi said they were responsible for the bombing in Dilaram and added that 12 policemen were killed.
