Kuwait City (AHN) - Kuwait has started its three days of mourning Wednesday after the death of 2006's head of state Sheikh Saad al-Sabah.
Sheikh Saad was parliament leader for nine days in Kuwait after he was deposed by the parliament for health reasons.
Sheikh Saad, 78, was named emir and has been a powerful prime minister of Kuwait and stood between different clans of Sabah dynasty.
Meanwhile, campaigning for Saturday's national election was suspended for three days. Stock market, private owned companies, and banks were also closed.
The 274 candidates for the national election has suspended their campaigns and election rallies for three days, which means no more campaigning before going to polling centers.
