Tokyo, Japan (AHN) - Three crew ship members of a cargo vessel went missing after three ships collided with one ship overturning in western city of Kobe, Japan Wednesday, it was reported.
There were nine Filipino crews onboard the Gold Leader, a Belize registered vessel but only six were rescued when it overturned around 3:40 p.m. local time near the Akashi strait.
The Japanese regional coast guard official Shoji Hirajara said six of the Filipino crews were rescued but three other crews were still missing.
However, coast guard said in a statement that five Japanese crew members were injured in the incident.
Gold Leader, which was carrying steel at the time of the incident, collided with a Japanese-registered vessel and a tanker about 1.5 miles southeast off the Akashi bridge in the Akashi Strait.
